In March, the number of consumer loans issued in Russia decreased by 57%

In March 2025, the number of consumer loans issued in Russia decreased by 57% compared to March 2024, amounting to 1.25 million units against 2.92 million units a year earlier. At the same time, there was a slight increase of 0.5% compared to February 2025, according to NBKI data.

Among the 30 leading regions in terms of consumer loans issued, the leaders were: Moscow (87.7 thousand units), Moscow Region (75.2 thousand), Krasnodar Territory (52.8 thousand), Tyumen Region (46.3 thousand) and Sverdlovsk Region (45.1 thousand units).

The largest annual decrease in consumer loans was recorded in the Orenburg Region (-62.6%), Saratov Region (-60.6%), Leningrad Region (-59.8%), Kemerovo Region (-58.8%) and Perm Krai (-58.5%). In large cities, the drop was: in Moscow - 48.1%, in St. Petersburg - 54.4%.
