Russia reduced coal exports by 2% in the first quarter of 2025

According to the results of the first quarter of 2025, Russia exported 46.4 million tons of coal, which is 2% higher than the level of the same period in 2024, but 15% lower than the level of 2023. This is reported by the Price Index Center.

In March, Russian coal exports totaled 16 million tons, down 2% year-on-year, but up 11.8% month-on-month. Coal exports grew in March due to the eastern direction. Shipments to China increased by 5% year-on-year and by 9% month-on-month.
