Europe increased its purchase of Russian LNG by 2.5%

During the heating season of 2024-2025, Russian LNG supplies to Europe increased by 2.5% (or 0.3 billion cubic meters) compared to the previous season. Such data is reported by the International Energy Agency (IEA) on the gas market.

According to the agency, Russia retains its position as the second largest LNG supplier to Europe. Belgium, France and Spain purchased up to 85% of the total European LNG imports from Russia during the reporting period.

The United States retained its leadership in LNG exports to Europe. This season, the United States increased supplies by 8% or 3.5 billion cubic meters.

In general, Europe increased LNG imports by 5% or 4.5 billion cubic meters during the heating season.
