Sergey Kogogin, the head of KAMAZ, believes that competition in the truck market from Chinese automakers was unfair. He stated this in an interview with the corporate publication Vesti KAMAZ.

The automobile plant plans to regain 50% of the truck market soon. Competition and a high key rate caused a loss of 3.4 billion rubles for KAMAZ in 2024 (according to Russian accounting standards).

Kogogin said that traditional sales channels through leasing and car loans have become burdensome for customers.

Sergey Kogogin also spoke about the high supply on the truck market.

Sergey Kogogin also spoke about the safety of Chinese transport.

«Along with the opening of borders for parallel imports in Russia, certain regulations were suspended. The state technical supervision has actually been frozen. After we stopped being overwhelmed with supplies, the State Technical Supervision function was restored> "There are a lot of inconsistencies, although our technical regulations are approximately the same," says the head of the auto giant.

Kogogin said that Chinese manufacturers are working strictly according to regulations at home, and they brought vehicles to us, which today are de facto dangerous for road users.
