The Russian Ministry of Agriculture opposes the indexation of selling prices for mineral fertilizers, considering it impractical. According to the Ministry, higher prices may reduce the availability of fertilizers for agricultural producers and increase the cost of agricultural production.
However, not all manufacturers have reached the established price limits in their sales policies. The Ministry of Agriculture is open to considering reasonable proposals from interested parties to find optimal solutions.
In November, fertilizer producers requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to index domestic prices by 15% from January 2025. At the end of December, the Ministry of Industry and Trade asked the Federal Antimonopoly Service to prepare proposals to the government of the Russian Federation on the possibility of indexing domestic prices for fertilizers.
