gt;Russia is exploring the possibilities of increasing coal supplies to foreign markets. The development of the coal industry was discussed at a government meeting.
As Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted, over the past 25 years, global coal consumption has increased by 80%, while many countries have small reserves of their own resources. This opens up opportunities for increasing supplies to key foreign markets, for example, to the countries of Southeast Asia.
At the same time, for the development of the Russian coal industry, it is necessary to solve a number of tasks related to logistics and the costs of companies for transporting coal. Thus, among the priority plans were announced: increasing the carrying capacity of the Eastern Railway Landfill and the volume of traffic along it, increasing the construction of new infrastructure, accelerating the production of powerful locomotives and more lifting wagons. "We need to consider in detail additional mechanisms that will ensure the steady development of Kuzbass and our other coal-mining regions," the head of the Cabinet emphasized.
