From January 1, 2026, the salaries of governors will be equal to the salaries of deputy prime ministers.

Starting from January 1, 2026, governors will receive the same amount as deputy prime ministers. This decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Now the salary of the head of the region will include:

• monthly monetary reward
• monthly monetary reward
• quarterly monetary reward

The Presidential Administration will pay the salaries of the governors at the expense of the federal budget. The Russian government will provide the necessary financing.

Thus, the leadership of the regions will receive comparable remuneration with the deputy prime ministers of the Russian Federation.
