At the beginning of 2025, the production of fish products in Russia decreased by 7%

At the beginning of 2025, the production of fish products in Russia decreased by 7% to 705 thousand tons. In the frozen fish segment, a decrease of 9% was recorded to 429 thousand tons, caused by a 10% decrease in pollock catch to 820 thousand tons. The production of fillet ice cream decreased by 14% to 54 thousand tons, while the production of pollock fillets increased by 3% to 31 thousand tons, herring fillets by 10% to 17 thousand tons, and cod fillets decreased by 7% to 89 thousand tons.

The production of canned fish showed an increase of 7% to 30 thousand tons, while the production of preserves decreased by 2% to 17 thousand tons. In the frozen crustacean sector, there was an increase of 20% to 12 thousand tons: shrimp imports increased by 15% to 85 thousand tons, the catch of cold-water shrimp increased by 15% to 27 thousand tons, and by March 2025, the catch of shrimp increased by 18% to 3.6 thousand tons.
