Mishustin: 64% of medicines on the Russian market are domestic

Medical import substitution is actively developing in Russia. This was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, answering questions from State Duma deputies. Thus, since 2025, the national project "New Technologies for saving Health" has been launched, which supports the testing of 23 new medical devices and 8 original drugs.
The production of medicines in Russia increased by 21.5% (market volume - 800 billion rubles), while 64% of medicines on the market are domestic. Mishustin also noted that the production of medical products increased by 11%, and the share of local products in sales reached 30%.33 billion rubles have been allocated to 57 enterprises to support the industry. Roadmaps have been developed for the replacement of imported drugs and medical products. 55 of 185 planned medications and 65 of 379 medical devices were registered.
Among the successes of domestic medicine, the Prime Minister noted the appearance of a domestic drug against Ankylosing spondylitis and a ventilator for newborns.
