The Government of the Russian Federation is combating the causes of rising prices, paying attention to supporting domestic producers and developing its own production. This was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, speaking in the State Duma with a report.

Thus, all key measures to support the agro-industrial complex were retained in the country, including financing of livestock breeding, elite seed production, as well as programs for deep processing of grain and milk. Agricultural producers are provided with preferential loans for sowing and harvesting.

The Government also took prompt measures, including temporary export restrictions, to ensure the availability of goods inside the country. This affected, in particular, grain crops and sunflower oil. When it was necessary to saturate the domestic market, imports from friendly countries were temporarily expanded.

"It was important to build a balance of supply and demand in general, to smooth out price fluctuations in order to avoid sudden spikes," said Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The Federal Antimonopoly Service revealed cases of up to 50% mark-up on fish products with up to six intermediaries, which led to a 3.5-fold increase in prices for consumers.

The government has provided the regions with special tools to work with manufacturers and retail chains to limit prices and margins.
