The Armenian parliament has adopted a bill on its intention to join the EU. 64 deputies voted for the document, seven against it. He was supported only by representatives of the ruling Civil Contract party.

The authors of the bill claim that it will help make Armenia a safe, secure, developed and prosperous country.

However, the bill is not an application for EU membership, it only reflects the intentions of the local government.
