Alfa-Bank and VTB ATMs do not accept new five-thousandth banknotes. The newspaper Izvestia writes about this, citing eyewitnesses.
Thus, according to the publication, every tenth ATM in Russia does not accept updated banknotes with a face value of 5 thousand rubles. Moscow accounts for 25% of such devices. The new banknote was put into circulation in October 2023. The mass turnover began in the fall of 2024. In addition, the Central Bank plans to update the design of banknotes in denominations of 10, 50 and 500 rubles by the end of 2025.
