
South Korea has significantly reduced imports of coal from Russia

In February, Russian coal supplies to South Korea fell to their lowest levels, RIA Novosti reports, citing data from the Korean statistical Service.
South Korea imported coal from Russia for 112.2 million dollars. The volume of deliveries has been minimal since February 2021. Then South Korea bought coal for 99.7 million. During the month, the volume of purchases decreased by 19%. The decrease in annual terms was 2.3 times.
Seoul most often bought bituminous coal in February. It is used to generate electricity and run trains. South Korea paid $105.3 million for bituminous coal. Anthracite is in second place. It was put at 6.9 million dollars.
In total coal imports by South Korea, Russia overtook the United States and took the fourth place. Australia, Indonesia and Colombia are in the TOP 3.
