Demand for warehouse space in Russia dropped by 45%

In the first quarter of 2025, demand for warehouse space in Russia fell by 45% compared to the same period in 2024, from 569,000 to 320,000 square meters. Two thirds of the transactions (213,000 square meters) were concluded in the Moscow region.

The structure of demand has changed: the share of e-commerce has decreased to 11% (at least since 2019), and the share of manufacturing companies and retail has increased to 80%.

Experts predict that the market will remain moderately active in the first half of 2025. The expected volume of transactions for the year is 3.5 million square meters. m. In the second half of the year, the market may revive if the key interest rate is lowered.
