The United States of America opposed the Ukrainian resolution at the United Nations, which condemns Russia, RIA Novosti reports, citing Western media.

The United States has proposed its own version of the document, which is aimed at a peaceful resolution of the conflict. The US presidential administration called on all members of the organization to support the American option.

In a statement, the US State Department stressed that Washington is committed to ending the conflict as soon as possible and calls for lasting peace between Moscow and Kiev. The new resolution proposed by the United States calls the main goal of the United Nations the maintenance of international peace and security, as well as the peaceful settlement of disputes.

Russia, in turn, amended the document, pointing out the need to eliminate the root causes of the conflict.
