Snowfall affected the movement of ships in the Bosphorus Strait

The Bosphorus Strait is closed to ship traffic in both directions due to weather conditions, RIA Novosti reports, citing the DHA news agency. The reason for the restrictions was heavy snowfall.

"Due to the snowfall, which increases from time to time throughout Istanbul, the movement of ships along the Bosphorus was temporarily stopped in both directions," the newspaper reported.

Earlier, two bulk carriers collided in the Bosphorus Strait. The incident happened on October 3, 2024, near the Uskyudar district of Istanbul.
