Starting from March 1, a new requirement for regions will be introduced in Russia. They will be prohibited from switching to the form of payment for heating services, which implies a split of the payment in uniform installments for the whole year. This is reported by "RIA Novosti"/a> with reference to Alexander Yakubovsky, a member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

It is noted that in regions that previously switched to the form of payment in uniform monthly payments, this form of payment may remain. Regions where actual payment is charged only during the heating season will no longer be able to switch to payments in uniform installments throughout the year.

According to Yakubovsky, this measure is being introduced to increase the transparency of payment for services provided. Apartment owners will be able to monitor whether the payment corresponds to the meter readings. The disadvantage of the innovation will be a significant increase in the cost of heating in payment documents in the autumn-winter period.
