The United States wants to strengthen sanctions against the Russian oil sector to end the conflict in Ukraine.

"American President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of further tightening sanctions against Russia in order to bring the conflict in Ukraine to an end. This statement was made by the special envoy of the President of the United States, Keith Kellogg, in an interview with The New York Post.

According to him, increased restrictions on the production and export of Russian oil are being considered as new measures. He noted that the sanctions in force against the Russian energy sector only partially exert pressure on Russia. On a 10-point scale, he rated their effect "three points."
