In January, sales of new passenger cars in Russia increased by 11%

In January 2025, sales of new passenger cars in Russia increased by 11% compared to January last year, reaching 88.5 thousand cars, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The total sales volume of all types of vehicles - passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses - increased by 7% and amounted to 102.5 thousand units.

lt;p>Light commercial vehicles showed growth: their sales reached 7.8 thousand units, which is 11% more than in January last year. At the same time, truck sales decreased by 29% to 5,300 units, while bus sales fell by 32% to 797 units. The market for new electric vehicles in Russia totaled 764 vehicles, which is 53% less than a year earlier.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade also noted that sales of new cars produced in Russia amounted to 52,847 units, which is 28% more than in the same period of 2024, when 41,370 cars were sold.
