In 2025, the pursuit of technological sovereignty led to an increase in budget spending on science. As reported by "Kommersant", allocations for civil science will increase by 158.2 billion rubles to 850 billion rubles.

Expenditures on applied research will increase by 3.2% to 538.6 billion rubles, and on basic research - by 9.3% to 311.4 billion rubles.

In order to use the money more efficiently, in 2025, the authorities began experimenting with a new government order system for scientific projects.The purpose of the experiment is to better allocate public funds and encourage scientific research in important areas.
