In Russia, four communications spacecraft are scheduled to be launched into orbit in 2026, which will provide broadband access to fast Internet throughout the country, including the Arctic zone. This was announced by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Mikhail Mishustin, speaking at the Digital Almaty forum.

According to Mishustin, in 2027 Russia will lay the foundation for its own low-orbit constellation.

"In the future, there will be about 300 devices that will be able to fully meet the needs of not only Russia, but also all the countries of the Eurasian Union for cheap and fast, and most importantly, reliable Internet," TASS quotes.

Mishustin stressed that the formation of the satellite constellation will be based on domestic technological solutions.
