Eight more Russian cities will receive the title of "City of Labor Valor". This was discussed at a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Pobeda organizing committee.
The President clarified that Kovrov (Vladimir Region), Kurgan (Kurgan Region), Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk Region), Miass (Chelyabinsk Region), Leninsk-Kuznetsky (Kemerovo Region), Zelenodolsk (Tatarstan), Ishimbai (Bashkortostan) and others are applying for this honorary status. According to Putin, during the Second World War, 25% of oil was extracted in Ishimbai, and more than 20 million tons of coal were supplied to the front from Leninsk-Kuznetsk.
