Ukraine has no plans to renew the agreement on the transit of Russian gas to European countries after the agreement with Gazprom expired on January 1. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada.

At the same time, he noted that there are no plans to cancel the transit of Russian oil to Europe via the Druzhba pipeline, as this would be a direct violation by Ukraine of the Energy Charter Treaty and the Association Agreement with the EU.

According to Shmygal, the suspension of oil transit by Ukraine will become a reason for the affected countries to appeal to the international arbitration court, and also threatens to terminate its financing from the EU.
