Falkov: in 2025, higher education is waiting for the transition to a new model

For the implementation of the state program &Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation» in 2025, more than 1 trillion 474 million rubles will be allocated from the federal budget. This is 7% more than in the current year, said Valery Falkov, head of the Ministry of Education and Science.

Valery Falkov held a meeting with the rectors of Russian universities on the topic « About the preliminary results of 2024 and plans for 2025». The meeting was attended by the heads of 225 universities subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Science. The Minister recalled the importance of the decrees recently signed by the President of Russia concerning the strategy of scientific and technological development and national goals until 2030 and for the future until 2036. These documents are already influencing qualitative changes in the field of higher education and science, he noted.

During the meeting, the key points of the development of higher education were announced. In 2025, more than 1 trillion 474 million rubles will be allocated from the federal budget for the implementation of the state program "Scientific and Technological development of the Russian Federation", which is 7% more than in 2024. The Minister stressed the importance of effective use of budgetary funds for the development of higher education and science in the regions, calling for the involvement of other universities and representatives of the real sector in this activity.

It was also noted that in 2025, the number of budget places for universities in priority areas of training engineering, pedagogical and medical personnel remains and even increases. Valery Falkov thanked the universities for the good organization of the admission campaign for the participants and their families.

2025 will be devoted to active actions for the transition to a new model of higher education. Systematic measures to support universities have been maintained, including the construction of campuses, the creation of advanced engineering schools and youth laboratories, as well as the updating of the instrument base. The programs of the Ministry of Education and Science will be transformed to meet technological challenges.
