Big business expects the gradual lifting of sanctions. The head of the RSPP, Alexander Shokhin, spoke about the sentiments that prevail among entrepreneurs at the Russian Economic Forum, which started in Chelyabinsk the day before.
The head of the RSPP also noted that large business today remained a driver of economic growth, was able to adapt to the restrictions imposed, and occupy those niches that became vacant after the departure of foreign companies.- You know, Donald Trump is an emotional person whose actions are not so easy to predict. Many expect him to fulfill the main promise — not to unleash or support new warriors, but to complete the old ones. If this is the case, then sanctions will begin to be lifted and normal economic relations with those countries that we now call unfriendly will be restored. Of course, the formula here is simple - to hope for the best, but to proceed from the worst. Russian business assumes that sanctions are easy to impose, but (difficult) to lift, there are various reasons to maintain sanctions pressure. Thank God, Donald Trump and his team are supporters of traditional values, otherwise, after the end of the burning phase of the conflict with Ukraine, you can come up with something else to maintain sanctions: either our legislation against LGBT people, or against foreign agents. Therefore, here, of course, we will wait and actively prepare the ground for normalization of relations," Shokhin said at the forum.
