Former deputy chairman of the government of the Moscow region Bronstein was detained in a bribery case

The former first deputy chairman of the government of the Moscow region, Ilya Bronstein, was detained in the case of receiving a bribe. This is reported by telegram channel publications «Kommersant».

Bronstein was detained on September 13 in Moscow. According to the security forces, in June 2024, through an intermediary, who was the rector of the Corporate University for the Development of Education, he received a bribe from the CEO of a company claiming to fulfill a contract for the supply of equipment to educational institutions in the Moscow region.

For 25 million rubles, the proposed contractor was supposed to receive unhindered access to the competition, signing of acts of completed work and payment, as well as general patronage from a high-ranking official. All three were detained, they are suspected of giving, receiving and mediating in receiving bribes on a particularly large scale.
