The Central Bank announced the decision on the key rate on Friday, September 13. The rate was increased by 100 bps to 19% per annum. The previous time, the regulator raised the rate immediately by 200 bps from 16% to 18%.
Experts previously predicted a tightening of monetary policy by the regulator. This was indicated by inflation indicators, as well as GDP and export-import growth rates.
The Central Bank has repeatedly stated that a reduction in the key rate should not be expected before next year.
