The German Federal government, as reported by the German edition of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, will not provide Ukraine with any additional financial support in the near future.

According to FAZ, this happened due to the fact that the current budget planning does not include money that could be transferred to Kiev. The ruling coalition in Germany suspends payments primarily on the initiative of Finance Minister Christian Lindner. In his letter dated August 5, the Finance Minister asked Defense Minister Boris Pistorius to stop allocating money to Ukraine and ensure compliance with the upper limits of budget spending. However, all previously agreed payments should go to Kiev, this also applies to weapons that Germany has promised to transfer to Ukraine.

Recall that in 2024 Berlin should allocate eight billion euros to support Ukraine. The planned maximum limit for 2025 is exactly two times less and will amount to four billion euros. All expenses have already been planned, and additional requests from the German Defense Ministry will no longer be satisfied at the request of Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
