The FSB will limit IP telephony services to combat network scams

The FSB demanded that Russian telecom operators impose restrictions on the provision of IP telephony services. This should help in the fight against scammers who actively use such a service to deceive people.

As reported by edition &RBC»/a> the FSB demanded that Russian telecom operators prohibit providing customers with the opportunity to use VoIP accounts from both foreign IP addresses and those belonging to Russian hosting providers. Recall that VoIP telephony converts a standard telephone signal into a digital stream that can be transmitted over the Internet, as well as an incoming digital stream from the Internet into an analog telephone signal.
