The United States plans to halt its annual funding of around $4 billion to Israel by the end of 2026, according to a report by the Russian state news agency TASS. U.S. President Donald Trump stated that an agreement has already been reached with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The American leader revealed that the issue of ending payments had been discussed several months ago and that the Israeli side had agreed to the decision.

"Regarding payments to Israel, Bibi Netanyahu and I have made a deal where we pay Israel $4 billion a year. We agreed several months ago that we will stop, and they are on board with that. By the end of the year, we will stop paying Israel," Trump said in an interview with Fox News.

Trump justified the decision to cease financial support by pointing out that Israel has become a prosperous economy.

The U.S. president did not specify how the cessation of funding would be formalized or whether it would affect other forms of American assistance to Israel.
