The Bank of Russia (CBR) is prepared to introduce preferential regulatory measures for bank loans aimed at protecting critical infrastructure objects, announced CBR Governor Elvira Nabiullina at the International Banking Forum.

"Many of your borrowers are now looking to invest in protecting their infrastructure, including critical infrastructure, and they are applying for loans. From a regulatory standpoint, we are ready to accommodate this by applying lower risk weights and not imposing macroprudential add-ons for such loans," Nabiullina clarified.

She believes that this measure will help reduce long-term risks for banks.
