### Russia Becomes Top Supplier of Frozen Pollock Fillets to EU Market Russia has emerged as the largest supplier of frozen pollock fillets to the European Union market, increasing its market share to 51% in August, according to data from Eurostat cited by the Russian Fisheries Union. This figure stood at 44% a year earlier. From January to July, Russia exported 80,000 tons of frozen pollock fillets to the European market, a 16% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Export revenue for this period grew by 44%, reaching $274 million. In addition, Russian exports of frozen cod to the EU amounted to 6,300 tons worth $58 million, marking a 38% increase. Exports of frozen cod fillets reached 6,400 tons valued at $78 million, a 33% increase. Furthermore, Russia supplied 5,900 tons of surimi (fish paste used in making imitation crab meat) to the European market worth $13.1 million and resumed, after a two-year hiatus, exports of frozen herring, totaling 4,000 tons worth $5 million.
