Russian air defense intercepted and destroyed 239 Ukrainian drones overnight on August 31, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Samara, Saratov, Tambov, Tula, Moscow area, Krasnodar region, the Republic of Crimea (a territory claimed by Ukraine but annexed by Russia in 2014), and the Black Sea waters.
