Russia-Ukraine talks in "deep pause": Peskov

Negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine are currently stalled, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov stated that no new proposals or initiatives have emerged that could break the current impasse.

He noted that Russia had previously outlined its demands, which are known to Ukrainian authorities. However, Peskov assessed that Kiev has not yet shown a willingness to discuss these issues within the framework of a peace process.

"There are no new ideas," Peskov said when commenting on the state of negotiations.

The Kremlin spokesman also stated that in the absence of diplomatic progress, Russia will continue to act based on the situation on the front lines. He added that Moscow intends to maintain a positive dynamic in military operations for itself.

Earlier, at the end of July, Peskov had reported ongoing contacts between Russia and the United States regarding the Ukrainian issue, while cautioning against premature conclusions about the prospects for negotiations.

He also expressed hope that the U.S. side, if the opportunity arises, could arrange a visit by representatives to Moscow.
