Wildberries Logistics Center in Kotovsk, Tambov Region, Destroyed by Ukrainian Drone Attack
The logistics center of the Russian online retailer Wildberries in Kotovsk, Tambov region, was completely destroyed by fire following an attack by Ukrainian drones in the night of August 26, according to the regional governor Evgeniy Pervyshov.
Two people were injured in the incident. A 19-year-old man suffered a concussion, while a 49-year-old woman sustained a finger fracture. Both victims are receiving necessary medical care.
Thanks to timely evacuation of night shift employees and coordinated actions of emergency and municipal services, more serious consequences for people were avoided.
Pervyshov reported that Russian military forces shot down 13 drones using air defense systems. Another 3 attack drones were downed by mobile fire groups of "BARS-Tambov". However, 3 drones managed to reach their target and strike the warehouse building, causing a fire that completely destroyed the logistics facility.
Regional authorities plan to hold a meeting to discuss further employment opportunities for the employees of the destroyed warehouse. Pervyshov stressed that Wildberries workers should not be left without jobs due to the incident.
