### Moscow Exchange Index Falls 1.3% in Wednesday Trading Session
On Wednesday, the Moscow Exchange Index (MOEX), a key indicator of the Russian stock market, dropped by 1.3% and was trading at 2,090 basis points.
The most liquid stocks showed the following trading dynamics:
- Lukoil: -1.4%
- Gazprom: -1.1%
- Sberbank: -0.8%
- Rosneft: -0.7%
The MOEX Index is a price-based indicator of the Russian stock market. It is calculated based on the market capitalization of freely traded shares (free-float) and includes highly liquid securities of major and rapidly growing Russian companies.
The composite stock index of the Moscow Exchange is calculated using prices weighted by market capitalization, taking into account free-float, and includes the most liquid stocks of Russian companies. The index composition and weight are reviewed quarterly.
