By December 1, 2026, Russia will launch an online service for searching and purchasing burial plots, according to the Ministry of Digital Development. The service will be integrated into the national e-government platform, "Gosuslugi" (State Services), reported by Kommersant.

Currently, the cemetery plot selection service is operational in six regions, with active implementation underway in another 15 regions. The plan is to upload data on approximately 14,000 cemeteries into the National Spatial Data System (NSPD), enabling the digital provision of 15 government services.

The new service aims to simplify and expedite access to necessary services during difficult times, reduce administrative burdens on government bodies, and increase transparency in the management of burial plots and the funeral services market.
