Russian Upper House Approves Law to Modernize and Support Russia Post
Members of the Federation Council have approved a law that provides a range of measures aimed at modernizing and supporting Russia Post, the national postal service of Russia.
Under the new law, Russia Post will be given additional sources of funding. In addition to providing electronic government services, the state-owned company will now be able to charge citizens for accepting physical applications for government services and delivering the results of these services to applicants.
Furthermore, Russia Post will be allowed to engage legal entities and individual entrepreneurs to handle mail and place advertisements on payment documents delivered by postmen.
