Euro hits 90 rubles for first time since late April

The euro exchange rate on the Moscow Exchange rose above 90 rubles for the first time since April 28, according to trading platform data.

At 10:11 am Moscow time, the European currency was up 1.27%, reaching 90.10 rubles. A few minutes later, the growth slowed slightly: by 10:25 am Moscow time, the euro was trading at 90.05 rubles, up 1.21%.

Other major foreign currencies also strengthened simultaneously. The dollar rose 0.89% to 83.37 rubles, while the yuan added 0.48%, reaching 11.616 rubles.

At the start of the main trading session, the stock market showed mixed dynamics. The MOEX index (Moscow Exchange Index) opened 0.27% higher at 2715.31 points, while the RTS index (Russian Trading System Index) fell 0.32% to 1029.01 points.

By 10:17 am Moscow time, the ruble-denominated MOEX index strengthened its growth to 2724.26 points (+0.6%), while the dollar-denominated RTS index partially reduced its losses and stood at 1030.49 points, remaining slightly down by 0.17%.
