The Russian government is considering a temporary ban on diesel fuel exports for manufacturers, according to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, as reported by TASS.

He stressed that there is currently an adequate supply of diesel in the country, but the measure is necessary to increase market availability during a period of high demand. The restriction would be short-term.

"We are looking at a short time frame. We have an excess of diesel, so to replenish the domestic market and increase reserves, it will take just a few months," Novak said.
