Russian State Duma passes law on unified digital platform

Russian lawmakers have adopted a law on the technological platform for the creation, development and operation of information systems in its second and final third reading during a plenary session.

The platform will include information technologies, databases, technical and software tools that enable participants to create, develop and use state, municipal and other information systems.

The Ministry of Digital Development (Mintsifry) has been designated as the authorized body. The ministry will provide platform participants with components for the creation, development and operation of information systems and ensure interaction between component owners and platform participants.

The law will come into effect on September 1, 2027.
