Pensions for Non-Working Retirees Exceed 40,000 Rubles in Two Russian Regions for First Time

In two Russian regions, the average pension for non-working citizens has exceeded 40,000 rubles ($480) for the first time, according to TASS based on recent statistical data.

The regions in question are Chukotka Autonomous Okrug and Nenets Autonomous Okrug. According to the Social Fund, in April 2026, the average pension for non-working residents of Chukotka reached 44,100 rubles ($530), while in Nenets Autonomous Okrug it amounted to 40,000 rubles ($480).

By comparison, the average pension for non-working Russians nationwide stands at 25,800 rubles ($310).

Overall, the average pension in Russia in April 2026 approached 25,400 rubles ($305), according to statistical data.
