Rosstandart continues to oversee state control over compliance with mandatory requirements for automotive fuel. Over several years of active inspections, the share of fuel that does not meet mandatory safety requirements has decreased from 20% to 4%. These figures were announced by the head of the agency, Anton Shalaev, during a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
According to Shalaev, this result was achieved not only through control and oversight measures, but also thanks to unique developments by Russian metrologists that allow fuel analysis to be conducted on-site without the need for expensive laboratory equipment. Additionally, a GOST (state standard) was introduced for fuel dispensers, leading to a significant reduction in cases of underfilling.
"In the future, we plan to introduce a system of public evaluations of fuel quality. This is a new project that we intend to implement this year," the head of Rosstandart reported.
