Cargo Ship Sinks in Azov Sea, 9 Sailors Rescued, One Dead

Nine crew members of a cargo ship that sank in the Azov Sea have been found on the shoreline, according to Kherson region governor Vladimir Saldo. One sailor has died, and two others remain missing.

The incident involved a "Volga-Balt" type vessel carrying a wheat cargo. After the accident, part of the crew managed to reach land, where they were met by locals who provided first aid until rescue services arrived.

Preliminary information indicates that the deceased was the first mate, born in 1991. Search efforts for the two missing crew members are ongoing, with their current whereabouts unknown.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. Investigative bodies are working to determine the cause of the sinking and reconstruct the full sequence of events.
