### Russian Natural Gas Production Declines in 2025, Processing Increases
Russian natural gas production, including associated gas, decreased by 3% in 2025, reaching 663.3 billion cubic meters, according to data cited by Interfax from Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev.
Meanwhile, gas processing volumes saw an increase of 3.8%, reaching 105.6 billion cubic meters, as reported by the Ministry of Energy.
Consumption of gas as a motor fuel rose from 2.52 billion cubic meters to 3.6 billion cubic meters over the year. The number of stationary natural gas filling stations increased by 7.3%, reaching 1,255 units. Connections to gas networks under the social gasification program grew by 15.7%, reaching 330,700 units.
Reserves of natural gas in 2025 saw a growth above the 2024 level, reaching 670 billion cubic meters. New hydrocarbon deposits were discovered in key gas production centers, including the Yamal Peninsula, Yakutia, and the Nadym-Pur-Taz region.
