The United States is negotiating with Iran, which is now ready to conclude a peace deal, U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters.
"We won this war. They gave us a great gift worth a lot of money. The gift arrived today. It was related to oil and gas," Trump said without specifying what gift he was referring to. "We are dealing with the right people. There really has been a regime change, because all the leaders are very different from the ones we started with."
According to the U.S. leader, almost everything Iran had has been destroyed. U.S. forces are "freely moving" over Tehran and can "do whatever they want." Referring to the Strait of Hormuz (a narrow waterway between Iran and Oman, crucial for global oil shipments), he stressed that "we will control whatever we want."
"They agreed that they will never have nuclear weapons," Trump said.
