An interagency working group has been dispatched to Novosibirsk region to assess the situation regarding veterinary safety, following an order from Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev.
The delegation is led by the head of Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergey Dankvert, and includes representatives from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.
During their visit, experts will analyze the measures being taken at the regional level to ensure the veterinary well-being of cattle and evaluate their effectiveness.
In parallel, Rosselkhoznadzor is intensifying control over preventive work in farms and compliance with animal transportation regulations. Special attention is being paid to preventing cases of livestock transportation without necessary veterinary documents.
Earlier, it was reported that a state of emergency (ЧС - "chrezvychaynaya situatsiya") had been introduced in Novosibirsk region due to outbreaks of pasteurellosis among cattle.
Farmers have been promised financial support following the destruction of livestock, according to TASS citing Yulia Ogloblina, deputy chair of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues.
In the infection-affected area, a subsidy will be provided for restocking cattle, as well as regional social assistance, which will be given monthly for nine months at the amount of the subsistence minimum per family member. The total payment to a family of four could exceed 668,000 rubles.
