Russia Prepares National System for Transparent Import of Goods from EAEU

The Russian government has drafted bills to establish a national system for confirming the expected delivery of goods imported from Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced.

Before importing goods into Russia, importers will be required to obtain a special code for each batch and make a security deposit. Once the goods are accounted for and all necessary taxes are paid, the funds will be refunded to the companies.

The measures are expected to bring entrepreneurs operating in the grey market into the legal trade sector and reduce the amount of counterfeit goods on the market.
