Russian Duma passes law banning seizure of land, car from large families over debts

Russian lawmakers have passed a bill that expands the list of assets belonging to large families that cannot be seized under court orders.

Under the new law, land plots provided free of charge to large families as part of social support measures cannot be seized to repay debts. Additionally, the only vehicle owned by a large family is also exempt from seizure.

(In Russia, families with three or more children are considered "large families" and are eligible for various social benefits and support measures.)
