### Middle East Oil Production Cut by 6.7 Million Barrels Amid Strait of Hormuz Closure
Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Saudi Arabia have been forced to reduce their oil production due to the ongoing conflict in Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, according to sources cited by [Bloomberg](https://www.bloomberg.com/europe).
Iraq has cut its oil production by 2.9 million barrels per day, Saudi Arabia by 2-2.5 million barrels, the UAE by 500,000-800,000 barrels, and Kuwait by approximately 500,000 barrels. Combined, these countries have reduced their daily oil output by 6.7 million barrels, representing a 20%-25% drop from February levels. As a result, global oil supplies have decreased by 6%.
